Interlude — a sight your blog correspondent hasn’t seen in 35 years

Your blog correspondent is in Chicago for the American family holiday of Thanksgiving (last Thursday of November) and upon his first weekend came face to face with tornadoes (well, they came ominously close and destroyed hundreds of homes) and then the second weekend had to brave a snowstorm (well, after three decades plus of tropical weather it was a veritable storm….)
